At three o'clock on Thursday afternoon, December 12, a pretty wedding scene was witnessed by a large crowd of people who assembled at the Elkport Lutheran church when Miss Carol D. Ortman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Ortman of Elkport, became the bride of Mr. Leroy L. Wittman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wittman of Elkport. The Rev. F. E. Damm officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Attending the couple were Miss Ethel Walters, a friend of the couple, and Mr. Julius Wittman, a brother of the groom. Walter Leroy Saur, a cousin of the groom, served as ring bearer.
After the ceremony a delicious wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride is a graduate of the Elkport high school with the class of 1929, and is a fine and charming young lady. The groom is also a graduate of the Elkport high school, with the class of 1927. He is an industrious young man, being employed with the W. E. Saur firm. The young couple will make their home in Elkader.
