MARRIED AT CERES PIONEER ROCK CHURCH
_______MISS CHARLOTTE WEBB BRIDE OF WILLIAM STOCKFELD ON SUNDAY
_______A pretty afternoon wedding was solemnized at the Pioneer Rock church at Ceres, Iowa, on Highway No. 55 [sic] on Sunday at two o’clock p. m., when Miss Charlotte Webb, of Muscatine, Iowa, and Mr. Wm. Stockfeld, also of Muscatine, Iowa, were united in holy matrimony by Rev. G. Bunge, of Garnavillo, who officiated at the single ring service.
The bridal party was unattended.
At the appointed hour to the strains of Lohengrin’s Wedding March the couple entered the church, which was filled with friends. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers and ferns. The bride was attired in a gown of navy blue georgette.
After a brief visit with friends, the couple will leave for Muscatine, where they are engaged in the hotel business.
May they take with them an abundance of happiness and good luck through life.
Mr. Stockfeld deemed it proper and fitting to have this occasion solemnized at the old rock church at Ceres, in due honor of his father, Dr. Paul Stockfeld, who built this church nearly seventy years ago. Mr. Stockfeld recalled his early childhood days spent at Ceres some fifty-five years ago with friends of whom very few live today.
Mr. Stockfeld has crossed a span of sixty years. A number of years ago he lost his first wife. His present wife is a sister to his first wife and has kept house for the family for the past thirty years. The beautiful surroundings of the church with bridal wreathes in bloom, together with the lovely weather made the wedding a very happy, yet solemn occasion.

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Pioneer Rock Church last Sunday afternoon. It was of more than ordinary interest since the bridegroom is William A. Stockfeld, of Muscatine, Iowa, one of the sons of the first pastor at the old church, Rev. Paul Stockfeld. The bride is Miss Charlotte A. Webb, also of Muscatine, a sister of Mr. Stockfeld's first wife, who is deceased. Rev. G. Bunge officiated. Mr. Stockfeld is engaged in the hotel business in Muscatine, where they will live.
