Guttenberg: Miss Violet Beerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Beerman of Guttenberg, and Mr. Clarence Uttenhove, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Uttenhove of Albany, N.Y., were married by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's Lutheran church here on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock in the presence of relatives and friends. The couple was unattended. After the marriage ceremony at the church a reception was tendered the newlyweds at the home of the bride's parents at which relatives and friends participated. The bride is one of this community's highly esteemed young ladies of many accomplishments. She is a graduate of the Guttenberg high school and for the past five years has been successfully engaged as a teacher in the schools of Clayton county. The bridegroom is an ambitious young man of excellent habits. He is a graduate of Rock Island, Ill., high school. For a time he held a position at a drug store at Rock Island, but of late years has been employed by the U.S. government as an inspector and surveyor on river improvement work. Mr. and Mrs. Uttenhove have gone to Chicago on a honeymoon trip, and after their return will reside at Rock Island, Ill. The best wishes of a host of friends go with the happy couple on their journey through life, as they are both most worthy young people.
