I found an error on the reported date of Elizabeth "Lizzie" Schuchmann's death. It was in 1950, not 1955. She died on July 5, 1950 and is buried at St Sebald.

Also, regarding the life insurance matter, George Schuchmann (1861-1898), the son killed at Volga, had a life insurance policy in force with the Mutural Benefit Life Insurance Company at the time of his death. The insured amount was $1,000. Even though George hadn't paid the premiums for 2 years prior to his death the company paid out $1,000 plus another $49 dividend after his death. This information was reported in The Arlington News, April 20, 1899, page 3.
