Elkader: The marriage of Miss Verna Tomkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Tomkins of Osterdock, and Mr. Edmund Hagen, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hagen of Jefferson township, took place at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Garnavillo on Wednesday morning of last week. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. M. J. Harder. On Wednesday evening a shower and wedding dance were given at the Osterdock hall in honor of the newlyweds, at which a large number of relatives and friends were present. The bride is a young lady who is held in high esteem by all who know her. For a time she was employed as a clerk at the L. A. Tujetsch grocery store, here. The bridegroom is an ambitious young man of excellent habits, held in high regard by all in this community. Mr. and Mrs. Hagen will reside on a farm in Jefferson township, and their numerous friends wish them a long, happy and prosperous wedded life.

The bride's name is given as Miss Berna Tomkins. The attendants of the couple were Miss Margaret Tomkins, a sister of the bride, and Clyde Moser, a cousin of the bride, acted as best man. The newlyweds will reside on the bridegroom's mother's farm near Osterdock.
