Morris - Falb marriage - 1924

MORRIS, FALB

A pretty home wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Falb Saturday morning when their daughter, Marie Florence, became the bride of Emmet L. Morris.

Promptly at eleven o'clock the bridal party marched to the parlor to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, which was played by Hans Keiser, and the couple was united in marriage by Rev. J. C. Van Horn of Fayette. Only the near relatives and a few close friends were in attendance at the ceremony which united this couple. Immediately following the congratulations and best wishes of the guests, the party went to the dining room where a three course breakfast was served by girl friends of the bride.

Miss Marie, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Falb, was raised in Elgin and is too well known to everyone to need any introduction. She has made teaching her profession after graduating from the Elgin High School and attending both Iowa State Teacher's College and Upper Iowa University. The past year she has been an instructor at the Buffalo Center Schools while two previous years were spent at Oelwein and one at Elkader in the same capacity.

Emmet L. Morris, who is a graduate of Upper Iowa University and also attended the University of Washington, is also a teacher by profession, and this following year will be superintendent of schools at Marquette. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Morris of Seattle, Washington, who at one time lived in this locality, and he is well known and liked by everyone with whom he has associated.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris left that same afternoon for a short honeymoon trip to Clear Lake, West Bend and Mason City, after which they will return to Marquette, where they both must get in readiness for the school work as Mrs. Morris will also be employed there as principal.

We join with many others here in extending congratulations and best wishes.-Elgin Echo.
