BURROWS, BURROUGHS, ARQUET, ARQUIT, CLEVELAND, GARDNER, UPDEGRAFF

Mrs. Martha Cleveland has at last been granted a pension after many rejections. Her first husband, Burrows, was a soldier, and his death occurred while her children were small, and she cared for them and reared them unaided.

Later she married Josiah Cleveland, who died some years ago, and she was again thrown on her own resources, aged and infirm.

Last June Mr. Eli Gardner took up the matter of securing a pension for this deserving "war widow," and employed all the available aids to further that end. Thos. Updegraff was the attorney in the case.

We are glad they succeeded in having this pension allowed. Mrs. Cleveland is 86 years old, and will enjoy the comforts this $12.00 per month will bring her. - McGregor Times.
