Wagner - McCue, marriage 1883

WAGNER, MCCUE, SCOFIELD, FALLON, GRIFFIN

On the 22nd ult., at Strawberry Point, occurred a very pleasant and happy event in the marriage of Mr. Val. Wagner, of Strawberry Point, to Miss Julia McCue, of Elkader.

The ceremony was performed at the Catholic church, by Rev. Father Rowe. The parties were attended by Misses Mattie Scofield and Maggie Fallon as bridesmaids, and Mr. Elmer Griffin and John McCue as groomsmen.

After the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the residence of Mr. Geo. H. Scofield, where a sumptuous repast was served which all did ample justice, which was followed by congratulations, and a general good time.

(Note: There followed a lengthy list of the presents given the newlyweds. P. McCue, father of the bride, is one of those mentioned as giving.)
