Elkader Register, Fri., 13 Oct. 1882.
Married- At the residence of the bride's parents, Elkader, on Thursday, October 12th, 1882, by Rev. J. S. McIntyre, Mr. E. C. Stearns to Mrs. Hannah M. Davis.
The wedding was a very quiet affair, only a very few present to witness the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. McIntyre in his happiest manner.
After receiving the congratulations of those present, and partaking of dinner, the newly married couple left for Nordland, D.T., where they will make their future home.
The groom is a son of Mr. C. F. Stearns, and is well known in Elkader, where he has resided the major portion of his life. Gentlemanly, courteous and honest in his dealings he has won the respect of all, and will have the best wishes of all for the future.
The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. ?. Davis, of this place, and like her husband has lived among us nearly all her life. She has a large circle of friends, won to her by her many virtues, and will have the heartiest wishes of all for a very long and pleasant wedded life.
The Register also wishes to extend to them its congratulations, and hope their life may be all their fancy has painted it.
(there followed a large list of presents)
