Nugent - Meder marriage - 1883

At Elkport, on last Saturday morning, occurred a very pleasant and happy event, in the marriage of Mr. John Nugent, of this township, to Miss Emma, daughter of Henry Meder, of Mederville. After the ceremony the newly married couple went to Mederville, where a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, which was attended by many friends of the parties, all of whom wish them a long and pleasant wedded life. Both parties are well known in Elkader, and have a large circle of friends, who will join the Register in wishing them a life of happiness.

They will soon go to Lincoln county, Wisconsin, where the groom has already prepared a home for his bride.
