DAVIS, CUMMINGS

Married at the residence of the bride’s father, October 23d, 1871, by Rev. H. M. Bailey, Mr. Francis Davis, of Elkader and Miss C. E. Cummings, of Volga City.

An event we have long looked for, and one that will cause the friends of both parents to say “well done!”.

Mr. Davis is highly esteemed here, being a gentleman of strict integrity, and Miss Cummings – a lady in every send of that word – well, everybody who knows her will wish her all the joy and happiness imaginable.

The happy pair have gone on a wedding tour to Davenport and other places, and we wish them a safe return.
