Elkader Register, Fri., 4 Mar. 1881.

At the residence of Rev. W. J. Hicks, Strawberry Point, on February 27th, 1881, Mr. G. N. Ely to Miss Eliza Nace, all of Strawberry Point.

The above announcement will be a surprise to the many friends of the high contracting parties in Elkader and elsewhere. G. N. is the son of T. C. Ely, of this place, and has many friends here who will join the Register in wishing him and his bride a long and happy life. Miss Nace was raised at Strawberry Point, where she is well and favorably known.

On Monday evening a reception was given at the residence of Mr. Daniel Nace, near Strawberry Point, where about 50 invited guests were assembled. After the usual congratulations, supper was announced, and all sat down to a well filled board, to which, judging from the remains, all did ample justice.

(There followed a long list of gifts.)
