Elkader Register, Fri., 28 Sept. 1883.
One of the most pleasant affairs it has been our pleasure to note for several weeks, was that which occurred at the pleasant farm home of David Bachtell, in Read township, yesterday. The occasion was the marriage of his daughter Miss Mary to F. M. Miles, of the same township. A large number of the friends and relatives of the parties were present, and the ceremony was performed by Rev. J. S. McIntyre, in his usual happy manner.
After the ceremony and congratulations, those present sat down to a splendid dinner, to which all did ample justice. The bride and groom have a large circle of friends, who will wish them every possible form of happiness and prosperity, and with them the Register wishes to extend its congratulations and express the hope that misfortune may never cast its shadow over their life; may it always be as pleasant as it now seems.
