Married September 11th, at the residence of the bride’s father, in Cox Creek Township, by Rev. Mr. Whitford, Mr. J. A. Hawthorne and Miss A. F. Peck, all of Clayton County.
A joyous, happy event, this doubtless was to our esteemed young friends. May it prove so through life. Marriage is often deemed a lottery in which the wheel of fortune turns some serious pranks. But, we don’t believe this true in all cases, especially in this, where a sensible young couple with the realities of life strikingly before them, senseless of all its joys and sorrows, yet happy as two loving hearts could be, entered the matrimonial state in full understanding of its blessings, its trials and its pleasures, with willing hands to battle in life’s current and a fond hope of a glorious future. Let us hope that they may realize all their hearts can wish. The printer wishes Mr. and Mrs. Hawthore a long and happy life.
