Married at Garnavillo, Iowa, July 21, 1867, by Hon. A.C. Rogers, P.C. Young, Esq., to Miss Ella M. Mathews, all of Elkader, Iowa.

A surprise isn’t it? You didn’t this it could have taken place without you knowing it? Neither did we; but, behold, just as we were going to press the above was handed us. By Jupitar’ weren’t we mad! We grasped the hand of our friend Young with such a grip as must have impressed him with the intensity of your feelings. We couldn’t talk to him at the time; we were nonplussed, but we do say now that he has won the heart of one of the most amiable of girls, and to wish him joy is useless. Nevertheless, let us indulge in the hope that their matrimonial haven may ever be a peaceful one, with no squalls from without or within – except such as spring from the tiny mouths of a host of Young-sters. In one, may they live and prosper to a ripe old age, and never realize ought but they are Young.
