Galer-Gifford, marriage 1866

Married at Littleport, at the house of the bride’s father, by the Rev. H. Gifford, April 19th, 1866, Mr. John Galer to Miss Esther Gifford, both of Cox Creek Township.

The printer thankfully acknowledgeth the dollar, and wishes the newly married couple a life of uninterrupted bliss. Mr. Galer was one of our brave defenders and it is well that he has captured a valuable a treasure as Miss Gifford.
May he be a tender Ga(o)ler to his fair prisoner.
