The family of Henry Clay Davis of this township are sadly afflicted-- Mr. and Mrs. Davis and their youngest daughter went to Hot Springs, Arkansas a few weeks ago--where Mr. Davis expected to regain his health. They took passage on a Mississippi River steamer and during the voyage, Abbie, the daughter, was exposed to the measles and shortly thereafter came down with the disease. She was on a fair road to recovery when she suffered a relapse and soon after was taken to the home above where sickness and sorrow are unknown. She was buried in that southern city far away from her brothers, sisters and dear friends. She was 12 years old. The family at home received word that Mr. and Mrs. Davis had started for home a week ago but at this writing they had not reached this place. The sons and two daughters are nearly crazed by their troubles. they do not know where the parents are nor do they get any news of them.Notes:
