A very pretty home wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, April 11th, at the family residence of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Christofferson of Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, when their daughter, Clara, and Fred W. Bente were united in holy wedlock. The bride's sister, Miss Anna, played the wedding march and Rev. Franke, of Elkader, performed the ceremony in the presence of the nearest relatives of the bridal couple. The bride was attended by her sister, Velma, while Harry M. Bente assisted his brother. The couple will go to housekeeping on the Henry Bente farm in Read township, Clayton county. Those present from Elkader were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bente and daughter Dorothy, Harry M. Bente, grandma M. Bente, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schulte and baby, and Rev. and Mrs. Franke.
