A pretty wedding occurred at high noon Wednesday at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. August Kugel in Grand Meadow township, Clayton Co., when their daughter, Miss Emelia, was joined in marriage to Mr. Fred Borcherding of Guttenberg in the presence of a goodly number of relatives and invited guests, Rev. E. Schmidt performing the ceremony, following which a most magnificent wedding feast was spread. The young couple will reside on a farm near Guttenberg, where we hope happiness, contentment, health and prosperity may be theirs abundantly.- Postville Review, Friday, 8 June 1917.
