Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the St. Mark's Catholic church in Edgewood occurred the marriage of Miss Phoebe Cruise of Edgewood and Leonard Wiley of Strawberry Point. The high nuptial mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. J.P. Hammill, Miss Kathryn Lucey was maid of honor and John Wiley, brother of the bridegroom was best man. As the wedding march was played by Mrs. George F. Downey, the bridal party approached the altar. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ben Wilkemeyer of Edgewood and graduated from the public school at that place in 1926. She has been in charge of the Stone beauty parlors at Edgewood until recently. She has been active in the organizations of St. Marks parish. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiley Sr. of Edgewood. He graduated from the public school at that place in 1925. He has been employed in the Noble Rulon co., stores at Edgewood and Greeley and is now one of the clerks in their store at Strawberry Point. A reception, shower and dance was given at the Strand theatre in Edgewood Wednesday evening in their honor. More than two hundred attended. After a two weeks wedding trip, the newly weds will be at home in Strawberry Point. Their many friends extend to them a long and happy wedded life.
