- The officers and teachers of the M.E. Sunday school gave a surprise farewell reception to to their Superintendent, Miss Dora E. WYATT, who is leaving for Farley this week. The reception was held at the home of Miss Carrie BUCK.
- Ben WARNER went to Chicago Monday night to re-organize the Warner Comedy Co. featuring the OBRECHT Sisters, consisting of concert, band and orchestra. They will open at Guttenberg, Oct. 10, 11 and 12th, and will be in McGregor Oct. 13, 14 and 15th. We wish the Warner Comedy Co. all kinds of success.
- Marshal BERGEMEYER has been cleaning out the fellows who have been furnishing drink to blacklisted men. Two men were bound over to the Grand Jury and sent to Elkader to await trial. One man was given a heavy fine for drunkenness and blasphemy, and still another a fine of $10.00 and costs for drunkenness. Justice A.K. RUDOLF officiated at all four cases.
