Clayton County, Iowa Will Book A, Page 433I Catherine Langendorfer of Monona Twp., Clayton County Iowa do make this for my last Will and Testament, that is to say:
First: I give devise and bequeath to such of my children, as shall be less than fifteen years old at my death as follows. To the eldest of such children, the sum of three hundred dollars, for the youngest the sum of five hundred dollars, to any other less than 15 at time afore said, the sum of four hundred dollars each: and if necessary direct the sale of my 1/3 of farm.
Second: I give devise and bequeath to my son John Langendorfer all the personal property that is not used in the dwelling that was set apart to me from the Estate of my husband.
Third: I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Caroline, one complete bed and bedding for same, 1 bureau, 6 chairs, 1 rocker and sewing machine, which shall, of the best I have.
Fourth: I nominate and appoint my son John to be sole executor hereof, and to be the guardian of all minor children that may survive me.

The above instrument was at the date thereof signed by said Catherine Langendorfer in our presence and she at the same time, declared and published it as and for the last Will and Testament and we at her request, and in her presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our name as witness there to.

Clayton County) I Marion Cook Clerk of the Circuit Court in find for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the March Term AD 1877 of said court the Will and Instrument in writing hereunto annexed, and bearing date on the 24th day of February 1876, was duly approved before, and allowed by said court as and for the Las Will and Testament of the Real and Personal Estate of Catherine Langendorfer late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded, as such Will and Testament.In Witness Whereof, I have her unto set my hand and affixed the Seal of said Court at my office in Elkader, in said County this 5th day of March AD 1877.
