PETER NICHOLS and ANCHA THOMSEN

Peter Nichols, b. 10 Dec 1927 in Germany, and Ancha Thomsen, b. 1826 in Germany, came to Clayton County in 1867 accompanied by Mary Georgens. They had no children of their own, but they raised three girls including Mary who married George Marten Keehner 10 May 1880, Lizzie Schaeffer, and Mrs. Louis Hartwig.

Peter was a farmer and later served as the church sexton of the Lutheran Church in Garnavillo until his death on the 7 Jan 1904. His wife died 29 Oct 1904. Both are buried in Garnavillo beside her sister Mrs. Schoellerman.
