Carl Oscar Danielson Dies in Hospital
Carl Oscar Danielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Danielson, was born December 24, 1884 at Marathon, Buena Vista county. The young man's death was due to creeping paralysis. All that medical skill could do was brought to his aid but was of no avail and he passed to the great beyond at Retreat Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, April 17th.
He was a young man of sterling worth and had always remained at home with his parents, who testify that he had no fear of the hereafter but was well prepared for the eternal life, closing as his life has at the threshold of manhood's work, he will be remembered for the attractive and endearing qualities of heart which in such large measure were his, as he lies "sleeping the years of his manhood away" he will live in fondly cherished memory in many hearts.
The remains were taken to the parental home near Langdon the 19th where the funeral sermon was preached three days later by Rev. Carlson, of Albert City. The body was laid to rest at Riverside cemetery.
The following people from out of town attended the funeral: Andrew Larsen and wife, of Algona; Tom Thorson, of Rolfe; Chas. Anderson and wife of Albert City; D. Danielson and family of Albert City; Pete Petersen and wife, of Royal; Mrs. B.C. Hansen, Pete Hansen and wife, E. Hansen and wife, John Miller and wife, of Ruthven.
