Everett Allen LeMaster, 1918-2010

Everett Allen LeMaster, the son of Eldin Raleigh and Nina Edith (Bailey) LeMaster, was born on December 8, 1918 in Royal IA. He grew up in the Royal area where he received his early education graduating from Royal High School at the age of 16 as class Valedictorian.

On January 20, 1942, Everett married Frances Prentice in Trenton, MO. Following their marriage, they lived on the family farm near Royal, until retiring to Spencer in 1994. Everett was a member of the ASC for 25 years, serving on the board for 9 years, the Odd Fellows Lodge and Golden Kiwanis. He also was the township assessor in Royal for 2 years. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards and bowling with teams from Royal for over 40 years. He was an avid reader and liked to recite poetry, but most of all he loved to spend time with family, relatives, friends and his pets.

Everett passed away on November 17, 2010, at the Longhouse Residence at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Olive Shepley, Ruby Danielson and Rosa Warren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances of Spencer; his daughter, Joanne Anderson and her husband, James Davis of Plymouth, MN; three grandchildren: Timothy Anderson (Cindy), Kari Shideman (Charles) and Corey Anderson (Janelle); six great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Traw of St. Louis, MO; other relatives and friends.
