Mrs. Cora Greene, 92, resident of Spencer for 78 years, died Thursday at Spencer Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient since December 24.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warner Funeral Chapel. Rev. Charles O. Whitely, D.D. will officiate. Janice Swanson will sing "Abide With Me" and "In the Garden." Pallbearers will be grandsons John Culver, Robert Batschelet, Elmer Batschelet. Larry Halverson, Roger Halverson and Roy Culver.

Survivors include three daughters, Miss Lela Greene and Mrs. Roy (Hazel) Culver of Spencer, and Mrs. Esther Halverson of Tracy, Minn.; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Greene was born Jan. 24, 1870 to John and Jane DeVoss Bowers at Paris Corners, Wis. She came to Iowa at the age of 14, with her parents, settling at Greenville.

Her marriage to Elmer Greene took place at Greenville December 23, 1888. The Greenes moved to Spencer in 1920 after Mr. Greene's retirement from farming, purchasing a home at 129 East Park. He died July 19, 1934.

Mrs. Greene, although 93 was keenly interested in her home, family and friends. She was preceded by her husband and two daughters, Maude Greene and Mrs. A. W. (Stella) Batschelet.

Interment in Riverside cemetery
