Funeral services for Elaine L. Jessen, 72 of Sioux Rapids were held at 10;30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2002 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove, with Rev. Sanford Sill officiating
Mrs. Jessen died Thursday, March 21 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer
Burial was at Barnes Township Cemetery, Linn Grove.
The Sliefert Redig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
Elaine Lois Olson was born December 16, 1929, the daughter of Gehardt and Kathryne (Schulntz) Olson in Rembrandt. She attended school in Sioux Rapids and graduated from Linn Grove High School in 1947. On March 25, 1948, she married Darrell Dean Jessen in Rembrandt. She owned and operated Jessen's Past Time in Linn Grove for 24 years, retiring in 1993
She was member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove, Ladies Aid and was made an honorary member of the Linn Grove Fire Department
Mrs. Jessen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three brother in laws
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Anderson of Storm Lake; two sons; Steven and Amy Jessen and Steven and Becky Jessen all of Linn Grove; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; seven sisters; Miriam Wiebe of Linn Grove, Janet Campbell of Spencer; Lou Ann and Nyle Burns of Knoxville; Vivian and Damon Foxhoven of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Linda and Joe Rydstrom of Marathon; Retha and Roger Harrington of Ida Grove and Ruth and John Thompson of Sioux Rapids; three brothers; Richard and Linda Olson of Laurens; Lloyd and Alice Olson of Mason City and Robert and Jan Olson of Sioux City; other relatives and friends
