Services for Robert Wright, 69, of Everly will be held at the First Christian Church of Spencer at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 28. Rev. Keith Purscell will officiate with burial in Lone tree Cemetery of Everly
Military rites will be held at graveside by Legion Post No. 1 and VFW, No. 3159
Mr. Wright died Friday in Spencer Municipal Hospital
Bearers will be Kenneth Burger, Willard Spangler, Leland Thuirer, Bob Miller, Chet Nance and Eldo Scharnberg
Mr. Wright was born December 5, 1906 in Spencer to Clarence and Bertha (Puterbaugh) Wright
On July 7, 1929, he married Florence E. Ott in Jackson, Minnesota
He was the auto top and and body shop man beginning in 1929 and in 1936 he started managing the H & N Chevrolet Top and Body Shop until retiring in 1973.
He served with the U.S. Navy from April 1941 to October, 1945 and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer
Mr. Wright was a member of the First Christian Church of Spencer, the VFW and the American Legion
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas Wright
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Everly and by his sisters, Lucille Arrington of Cedar Rapids, Flossie M. Smith of Milford and Grace Sorensen of Spencer
The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
