John Dietrich Wilken, 78, Everly, died Saturday at the Hartley Community Hospital in Hartley
Services for Mr. Wilken will be at 11a.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church, Everly. The Rev. Harold Norheim will officiate
Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly
Casket bearers will be Bob Franker, Jim Jespersen, Robert Goeken, Gordon Wilken, Tom Wilken and Lee Schmidt
The Warner Funeral Home, Spencer is in charge of arrangements
The son of Herman S. and Anna (Bokker) Wilken, he was born August 13, 1910 in Monticello, Indiana. He received his education in Reynolds, Indiana and later in Everly.
He married Hope Dwinger, March 6, 1970 in the Hioe Lutheran Church, Everly. After their marriage, Mr. Wilken moved into Everly and continued to farm with his brothers in the Everly area.
He retired in December of 1975. While living in Everly, he was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed going out West and buying cattle for the farm. His favorite pastime was to play cards with his friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister
Survivors include his wife of Everly; one daughter, Julie Mae Wilken, living at home; one brother, Herman of Everly; and five sisters, Lena Schmidt of Spencer, Gertrude Bender of Cedar Rapids, Helen Wilken of Everly, Louise Dougal of Lake Park and Clara Goeken of Moneta
