Services for Mrs. Anna Wilken, 96 of Everly will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. Pastor Roger Hanson will officiate. Russell Clifford will sing "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me" will be sung by the congregation. Mrs. Haren Knapp will be the organist
Burial will be in the Lone Cemetery in Everly
Mrs. Wilkens died Sunday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
Bearers will be Gordon Wilken, Monte Schmidt, Bruce Dougal, Dennis Beinke, Thomas Goeken and James Jespersen
Mrs. Wilken was born March 9, 1881, at Upende, Ostfriesland, Germany, the daughter of Gerd and Geske (Helmers) Bokker. She received her education in Germany and moved with her parents to Ashkum, Illinois at the age of 14 years.
She married Herman S. Wilken on March 9, 1901 in Danforth, Illinois. They lived in Ashkum, Illinois and Monticello, Indiana before coming to Everly in 1919. She had lived there since.
She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church and the Hope Lutheran Church Women in Everly
Survivors include five sons, George, John, Fred,Henry and Herman Wilken of Everly; five daughters, Martha Ramsey of Everly, Mrs. Gertrude Bender of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Louise Dougal of Lake Park; 17 grandchildren, 39 great grand children and six great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1960, one son, Eibe Wilken in 1970, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and five brothers
The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
