Funeral for Amanda Christina Wegner, 100 of Everly was held Saturday from Hope Lutheran Church of Everly. Pastor Roger Hanson officiated.
Burial in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly
Bearers were Clifford Hartmann, Norman Nielsen, Robert Cuttell, Walter Goeken, Ervin Ketelsen and Edgar Pearson
Mrs. Wegner died Tuesday at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
She was born November 30, 1877 to Peter and Amaliea (Fransen) Thiessen at Keystone, Iowa
On July 11, 1895, she was married to Ernest F. Wegner at Keystone
She received her education in Benton County Schools. After marriage, the couple farmed near Keystone before moving to Clay County in 1902 where they lived southeast of Everly. In 1916, she moved into Everly where she made her home until moving to St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer in December, 1970
She is survived by a son, Waldo of Ames; a daughter, Mrs. V.A. (Alice) Soderberg of Yuba City, California; a grandchild and two great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1916, three brothers and two sisters
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
