Funeral services for Lawrence Strang, 74 of Everly, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly with the Rev. Eugene Schumacher officiating.
A rosary will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Baumgarten Funeral Home
Casket bearers will be Harold Sunde, Steve Gentry, Pat Ducharme, Dale Hollesen, Lee Van Houten and Shane Keefer
Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.
Mr. Strang died Thursday at Sioux Falls, South Dakota
The son of James and Mina (Mayou) Strang, he was born November 25, 1913, at Everly and attended school there
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, on board the U.S.S. Shenandoah. He received an honorable discharge on January 20, 1946
Mr. Strang married Olivia Marie Ducharme at MacDonald Manitoba, Canada on September 5, 1953
He was a machinist for 31 years, working at National Spencer and Christian's Sheet Metal until his retirement in 1976.
He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Everly
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Larry and Marcella and Dean and Tina of Everly; three daughters, Peggy and her husband, Russell Johnson of Cypress, California, Donna Strang of Lakefield, Minnesota and Mina Strang Marshall of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Gentry of Spencer
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Francis
