Services for Kenneth Henry Steffen, 57, of Everly will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. Pastor Roger Hanson will officiate with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Casket bearers will be Jim Mills, Frank Drury, Walt Goeken, Harm Eeten, Clifford Hartmann and Dale Adolf
Steffen, the son of Clarence and Hilda (Schoelerman) Steffen, was born October 24, 1922 in Royal, where he spent his childhood and received his education in the rural schools. Following his graduation from Everly High School in 1941, he began farming in the Greenville area
He married Shirley Mae Jessen on February 5, 1944, in Royal. Shortly after their marriage, he began farming near Everly, which he continued until moving to Everly in September, 1970.
Steffen was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church of Everly and the Everly Lions Club
He died Monday at his home in Everly
Surviving him are his wife, Shirley of Everly; two daughters, Sherrie Jeanne Burns of Lawton and Polly Ann Teeple of Pompano Beach, Florida; three grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarnece Steffen of Spencer; and two brothers, Ingwer Steffen of Greenville and Donald Steffen of Linn Grove.
The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of the service arrangements
