Funeral services for Russell William Morfitt, 68 of Everly, will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Everly. The Rev. Gary Bird will officiate with burial in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly
Paul Linder, Donald Dillehay, Donald Ihnen, Roger Christ, Teddy Dale Sorenson, Eugene Morfitt, Jerry Thomas and Roger Small will be the casket bearers
The son of William and Melissa (Smith) Morfitt, Morfitt was born April 19, 1913 in Harris.
He married Ettla Sorenson on January 16, 1935 in Sibley and he farmed near Harris until 1945, when they moved to a farm near Everly. They moved into town in 1981
He died Saturday at the Hartley Hospital.
Preceding Morfitt in death were his parents; one brother, Wilbur; and one sister, Gladys Dillehay and one brother, Harley of Lake Park
The Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of the service arrangements
Survivors include his wife, Ettla; four sons, Wilbur of Sanborn, Bobby of Milford, Freddy of Everly and Michael of Spencer; three daughters, Karen Elkin and Sandra Kirk, both of Hartley and Susan Stockdale of Everly; 19 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Grace Bergstrom of Windom, Minnesota, Mrs. Helen Swenson of Ocheyedan, Mrs. Goldie Walker of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Dorothy Nirk of Ruthton, Minnesota, Mrs. Ethel Nirk of Sheldon and Mrs. Mardell Christ of Sheldon
