Funeral services for Ervin K. Ketelsen 84, Spencer will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly with the Rev. Harold Norheim officiating.
Mr. Ketelsen died Monday at Spencer Municipal Hospital
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly
Casket bearers will be Frank Snider, Herman Winterboer, Pat Engel, Ted Ketelsen, Willie Hartmann and Jack Harms
The son of Theodore and Emma (Knoop) Ketelsen, he was born May 5, 1905 in Everly. His childhood years were spent in the Everly Community and he received his early education there. After graduating from Everly High School. Mr. Ketelsen attended the University of South Dakota
On June 30, 1934, he married Meta A. Weirauch in Saginaw, Michigan. For several years following their marriage they lived in Detroit, Michigan, where he owned and operated a grocery and meat market.
They later moved to Everly, where Mr. Ketelsen farmed for a number of years before retiring in 1975 and moving to Spencer
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City
He was preceded in death by his daughter in law
Mr. Ketelsen is survived by his wife, two sons, Don of Houston, Texas and Dennis and his wife, Linda of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren; tree great grandchildren and one brother, Harold (Hap) of Douglas, Wyoming
