Mary (Hansen) Hartmann 1892-1975

Mary Hartmann was born January 25, 1892 in Keystone, Iowa, to Peter and Anna (Benksohn) Hansen. At the age of 11, she moved with her parents to Excelsior Township in Dickinson County, where she completed her education. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith, and was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church of Everly.
Mary was married to Otto Hartmann on February 25, 1914, in Everly, Iowa. It was in the Everly community that she spent the majority of her life.
Mrs. Hartmann died on December 11, 1975, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital, having reached the age of 88 years, 10 months and 16 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto, on May 5, 1971; four brothers and three sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons and their spouses: Amos and Lorene Hartmann of Hartley; Clifford and Luella Hartmann of Everly; William and Barbara Hartmann of Everly; one daughter and her husband, Ronald and Berdeva Rost of Harris; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Moeller of Everly and Bertha, Mrs. John Hartmann of Lake Park; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held at the Hope Lutheran Church at 11 am on December 15, 1975 with Pastor Roger Hanson officiating.
Interment was in the Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly, Iowa.
