Services for James Fanning, 91 of Hartley were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St Joseph Catholic Church in Hartley. Father Thomas Munn officiated and burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery, at Everly
Mr. Fanning died January 21, 1978
Bearers were Robert Steuben, Orlo Franker, Lloyd Mori, Fred Wieben, Jack Viers and Jerry Holtz
Mr. Fanning was born December 16, 1886, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of W.J. and Lizzie (Gaffney) Fanning. The family moved to Dickinson County in 1889. Mr. Fanning lived and worked in the Milford, Everly and Hartley areas, retiring in Hartley. For the past few years he lived at the We Care Haven in Hartley. He was a member of the St. Catholic Church in Hartley
Survivors include a twin sister, Mrs. Belle Myers of Hawaiian Gardens, California and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Tratop of New Albany, Indiana
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, John, Tom, Grover, Robert, Frank and Joe; dive sisters, Mrs. Jennie Langford, Mrs. Annie (Alfred) Hanna, Mrs. Mary (Lambert) Huisenga, Mrs. Katie (Vern) Harmon and Mrs. Susie (Frankie) Franker
The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement
