Hezekiah Lane 1850-1933

Hezekiah Lane, 83, fanner of the Webb community and recently a resident at the county farm, died Saturday, August 19, at the Spencer hospital from diseases incident to until retiring when they moved to old age, Mr. Lane had not been in good health since in the winter when he suffered a light stroke. He had been a patient at the hospital about a week before his death, and death was due to diseases incident of old age.
Funeral at Webb
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Webb Monday afternoon at two o'clock, the pastor, Rev. Arthur Bottom, officiating.
The Cobb funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Interment was in the Garfield cemetery.
Music for the service was furnished by a quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Birdsall, Mrs. Hadley and Robert Higgins with Mrs. Blair at the piano.
Widow Survives
Mr. Lane is survived by his widow, the former Sarah Tressa Sweeney, five children, Mrs. Henry Mulder and William Lane, both of Webb, Edward Lane of Curlew, la., Mrs. Hattie Black of Emmetsburg, and Fred Lane of Spencer. One child died in Infancy. There also remain 29 grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.
Born in the state of Ohio June 9, 1850, Mr. Lane was 83 years, two months and ten days of age at death. When three years old he moved with his parents to Polk County, la., and was married February 22, 1886, to Miss Sweeney. They came to Clay County in 1914 to farm, until retiring when they moved to Spencer
