Services for Duane E. Klett were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, Iowa. John Jensen officiated
Pallbearers were Josh Chapman, Rod Toney, Lanny Klett, Ryan Terpstra, Dick Terpstra, Loren Wilson and Dan Gullion.
Interment was in Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.
Warner Funeral Home of Everly was in charge of the arrangements.
Duane E. Klett was born on September 20,1927 near Everly, Iowa.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Jeannine Koehnk on December 27, 1948, in
Worthington, Minnesota. He then graduated from Buena Vista College and began his career in education
Duane was a teacher and a coach at Thayer and Seymour, Iowa. He also spent 22 years as an elementary principal in Corydon, Iowa.
Duane and his wife Jeannine retired and returned to Everly in 1989.
Duane enjoyed his retirement years with family and friends, and wintering in Texas He was also quite an accomplished cook and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannine and is survived by his sons: Scott (Connie) and Mark (Linda) Klett; granddaughters Stacey Klett, Stephanie (Josh) Chapman and Tracy (Rod) Toney; also, great granddaughters, Brittany and Brooke Toney.
