Kate Margaret Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Roberts, passed away last Wednesday, January 11, at the home of her sister, Mrs. J.W, Davles, 677 north Grove Street.
Mrs. Roberts has been an Invalid for twelve years but was just bedfast since New Year's. Her death was caused from paralysis.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Cobb Funeral Home and burial was made In Pioneer cemetery in Douglas township. Rev. W. O. Roten, pastor of the Baptist church officiated.
Kate Margaret Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Roberts was born In Columbia County, Wisconsin, Nov. 21, 1863. She stayed with her parents there In Wisconsin until 1869 when they moved to Clay County where Mrs. Roberts spent the remainder of her life. While in her teens, she was baptized into the old Pioneer Baptist church where she remained a member until she united with the Baptist church of Spencer.
On April 17, 1889, she was united in marriage to Thomas H. Roberts. To this union was born a daughter, Margaret Jane, who passed away In Infancy.
Mr. Roberts preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1904, and since that time she has made her home with her sister, Mrs. J.W. Davies.
Mrs. Roberts leaves to mourn her departure three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Davies and Mlss Minnie Roberts of Spencer and Mrs. J. J. Merwin of Peterson, Iowa. Also, two nephews, Robert Davies of Spencer and Byron Merwin and three nieces, Elizabeth Jane and Mae Davies.
