Karen Kay Duncan, 62, formerly of Aurora, died at her home Jan. 12, 2003. The daughter of Kenneth and Alice Ginger Shever, was born on June 21, 1940, at home in Clay County, Iowa.
She received her early education and graduated with the class of 1958 in Anthon, Iowa. She attended the Methodist Church in Anthon and also was a member of Marganitte 4-H Club.
Kay was married December of 1959 and made her home in Spencer, Iowa, where she was employed at North “Y” Cafe. Throughout her marriage, she lived in various communities. She spent most of her life in Aurora, Minn. It was in Aurora that she raised her family and professed her Christian faith at the First Baptist Church. Kay moved back to Spencer in the summer of 1992. Her life was filled with the joy of family, friends, and her job at Subway where she was the manager for five years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sally (Pat) Lindholt of Paola, Kan., Linda Pond of San Angelo, Texas, and Vikki (Greg) Weigum of Wellington, Mo.; her grandchildren, Amy, Danny, Allen, Tammy, Raymond, Teresa, Jessica, Michael, Joshua, Krystal, Nicole and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Carl, Heather, Paige and Haley; two sisters and their husbands, Kathryn and Chris Sands of Schleswig, Iowa, and Lois and Chuck Farber of Woodbine, Iowa; one brother and his wife, Raymond and Arlene Shever of Hampton, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Burial was at Anthon, Iowa.
