Treva Rae Johnson, the daughter of Roy and Elsie (Kischer) Johnson, was born February 10, 1941 in Ruthven, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Albert City, Iowa, where she received her education, graduating from Albert City High School. Following high school, she attended at business school in Mankato, MN.
She married Robert W. Johnson in November of 1958 in Albert City, IA and to this union two children were born: Richard and Randall. They lived in Ames, Iowa for 5 years and later Minneapolis, MN for two years. Following her divorce, she moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1967. In Spencer, she worked as a medical record's clerk for Spencer Hospital for 22 years, until her retirement in 2001. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she was a member of a circle. She also was active as a chairperson for the Spencer Disabilities Council for a few years. Treva loved animals and enjoyed taking care of her pets, growing flowers and visiting friends.
Treva passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the age of 71. Her father, Roy Johnson, her mother Elsie (Kischer) Johnson and one son, Randall Johnson, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Dr. Richard Johnson and his wife, Maureen of Appleton, WI; three grandchildren: Jasmine, Julia and Ross; a cousin Marcia Swanson of Ruthven and many special friends, including Charles and Therese Schany of Spencer, Deb Scheer of Omaha, Nebraska, and Denny Johnson of Spencer. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffry Peterson, the nurses of Spencer Municipal Hospital and her home health aides for their compassionate care of Treva. A special thanks to Maurine Belz and Onalee Wright for their loving kindness.
