Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock for Mrs. Mary Stoddard, who passed away at Huron, South Dakota, Thursday at the age of 81 years and nine days.

Rev. H.V. Barts conducted the service and music was furnished by a quartet composed of Ralph Gilbert, Byron and Loren Reed and Rev. Bartz. Pall bearers were Lee Gilbert, M.G. Remington, Joe Sawyer, S.H. Wareham, Irwin French and Levi French.

Obituary

Mary Kellum, daughter of Justus and Mary (Sinkey) Kellum, was born in Jones county, Iowa on August 25, 1859. While working in Cherokee she met and married Charles B. Stoddard, and to this untion four children were born: Gertrude (Mrs. E.W. Dennstedt) of San Diego, California; A.E. of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Blanche (Mrs. Blanche Eason of San Diego, California), and George Albert of Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

From 1890 to 1909, they resided on a farm north of Peterson and about 1909 Mrs. Stoddard came to live in Peterson. She was a member of the Methodist church. Her husband preceded her in death six years ago.

She is survived by the four children, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Baine of Rochelle, Illinois, and Mrs. Emma Filby of Iroquois, South Dakota, sixteen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
