Blanche Claudy Sanderson, eldest daughter of Daniel and Malinda Jane Claudy, was born at McGregor, Iowa on August 31, 1879 and died at the Spencer hospital on December 30, at the age of 76 years, three months and thirty days. She had been ill about ten days.

She grew to womanhood and attended the public school at McGregor, later attending Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Iowa. After completing her course from the university she accepted a position in the bank at Moneta.

On November 28, 1911 she was united in marriage to Louis Sanderson at McGregor. They spent most of their married life in the Moneta and Webb communities except for a few years that they lived in southern Iowa and Houston, Texas. Two children were born to this union, a son, Donald, and a daughter, Doris.

She is survived by her husband, Lou, her two children, Donald and Doris, and a daughter-in-law Leah and three grandsons, George, James and Dale Sanderson. Also four sisters survive: Mrs. Eva Bergemeyer, Colton, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Pollock, Denison, Mrs. Olive Spang, St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Margery Goergen, McGregor. Also one adopted brother, Oscar Caludy (sic) of Revillo, S.D. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Ethel Fryklund, in April 1955.

Mrs. Sanderson was baptized at the Methodist church in McGregor in her youth. Her membership was transferred to the Methodist church of Webb after moving to this community.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 2, in Trinity Methodist church, Webb, by Rev. Kenneth J. Bressler and Rev. W.E. Ellison.

Edith Wellnitz was in charge of the music and organist. A quartette, Dean Johnson, Lois Johnson, Darrell Hart, Marjorie Van Vickle, sang: "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Lora Stewart and Gertie Mossengren were in charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Keith Edleman, Melvin Anderson, Cecil Raper, Gerald Hart, Al Burson and Burdette Boese. Milton Edleman was in charge of automobiles for the family.
