Mrs. Alice Pooler Welch, wife of James M. Welch, died yesterday morning shortly after eight o'clock at her home on East Park Avenue following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Welch suffered from a general breakdown and complications

Alice Pooler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Pooler, was born March 9, 1868 and at the time of her death was nearly fifty four years of age. Her parents were pioneer settlers of Clay County, having homesteaded a farm in Lake Township. The family of three daughters grew to womanhood here and November 22, 1888, Alice Pooler became the wife of James M Welch. They became the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Earl Smith and Ethel Welch, both of Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Welch spent several years on farms in Lake Township after which they moved to Spencer, coming to this city about ten years ago.

Besides her husband and daughters, Mrs. Welch is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Cora Dailey of Lake Township and Mrs. Wm. Adams of Greebnville

Arrangement for the funeral services have not been completed but will be in charge of the Rev. Robert Lee Stuart, Pastor of the M.E. Church, which Mrs. Welch attended and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery
