Funeral services for Mrs. Julia S. Somers, who died in her home at Dickens, Iowa, Wednesday, February 16, 1921, were conducted by Rev. J. N. Carey, at the Methodist Episcopal church of Dickens on Saturday afternoon February 19, 1921.

Julia S. Somers was born at Higate, Vermont, October 5, 1830 [sic]. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Potsdam, New York. On April 16, 1867, she was united in marriage to Ruben Somers and together they took up the homestead on which she has since made her home. She leaves to mourn their loss four children, Ruben, Archibold and Wilbur of Dickens and Mrs. Clara Smith of Moore, Montana.
