Roger Francis Lundberg, son of Bertha Harris and Emil Lundberg was born October 6, 1922 in Clay County, Iowa. He attended country school north of Peterson and graduated from Peterson High School in 1940. Roger grew up in the Maple Grove community and was a member of the Maple Grove Church of God in his youth. He attended the University of Northern Iowa. He returned home to farm his grandfather's homestead where he himself had grown up, and farmed there for 36 years.

Roger married Dorothy Elaine Rogne on August 23, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa. They made their home on this farm until retirement to Royal in 1979. In 1990, his farm was declared a Century Farm by the State of Iowa, which he was proud of.

He moved to Spencer in 1990 to be near his wife, who was a resident of St. Luke Lutheran Home.

Roger was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Royal where he taught Sunday School, Church Council and was on the Building Committee. He later became a member of Bethany Lutheran Church while living in Spencer.

Roger passed away on December 24, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 89.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and his brother, Stanley.

He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Orwig of Mt Pleasant, TX; his four grandchildren: David Orwig and his wife, Kristy of Pocahontas, IA, Stephanie Washington and her husband, Sammy of Dover, DE, Nicole Heller and her husband, Brad of Marathon, IA and Bennett Orwix and his wife, Briana of Albuquerque, NM; his eleven great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
