December 5, 2005Graveside service for Glenn Erickson will be on Friday, December 9th, 1:00 p.m., at Northlawn Memorial Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa with Rev. Donald Gibson officiating.
Glenn A. Erickson, age 77, of Wall Lake, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2005 at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Glenn was born on July 31, 1928 the son of Anton E. and Erdena Mae (Argraves) Erickson in Ramsey, Minnesota. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1946 W
Was inducted into the U.S. Army in October serving his country during WWII, earning WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Metal-Japan. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 21, 1948. While serving he attended Clerk and Typist School in Korkura, Japan, and completed his education at A.I.B. Business College in 1953 with a B.S. Degree in Accounting, Business Management and Salesmanship.
Glenn was united in marriage to Sandra Rae Rood in Chicago, Illinois, on September 23, 1973.
He was an accountant at Cedar Falls Utilities, office manager at Palace Clothiers in Waterloo, and office manager at Waterloo Tent and Awning Company.
He was a member of the Christian Church, the National Association of Accountants, Am Vets of Waterloo, and past president of the Gates Park Golf Club and treasurer for three years.
His hobbies included playing golf, hunting, fishing, card games, movies, and watching Iowa football and basketball games.
Sandra passed away December 8, 1997.
In September 2005 Glenn moved to Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake due to failing health.
Survivors include his sister, Velma Spencer of Holiday, FL; five brothers: Marvin Erickson and wife Hope of Spencer, IA, Richard Erickson and wife Marie of Carmichael, CA, Roger Erickson of California, Robert Erickson and wife Lucy of Carmichael, CA, and Keith Erickson and wife Dorothy of Olathe, KS; twenty two nieces and nephews, and his constant companion, his dog Sam.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sandra; sisters: Doris Miller and Bernice Erickson; and brothers: Oliver, Beryl, and Archie Erickson.
