July 19, 2005Funeral services for Mary Edington, 93 of Milford and formerly of Spencer will he held, July 23 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford. Monsignor Ken Seifriede will officiate the 10 a.m. service.
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer
Ms. Edington passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Milford Care Center in Milford

Mary, the daughter of William Grove Reid and Miriam Manning King was born July 4, 1912 in Red Wing, Minnesota. Her early years were spent in Red Wing, until for health reasons, she moved to San Antonio, Texas. There she lived with Colonel Joseph C. and Charlotte Ryan King. Mary graduated from high school in San Antonio and then attended Catholic Preparatory School for one year
On June 1, 1935, she married Dr. Frank Dennis Edington at the Fort Des Moines Post Chapel in Des Moines. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer where Dr. Edington opened his medical practice.
Mary was a homemaker as well as an active member of the Spencer community and the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a charter member of the Clay County Federated Garden Club, served in the American Legion for 48 years and the V.F.W. Auxiliary since 1946
She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter, Julia; her husband, on October 27, 1994; a brother King Reid; and three sisters, Betty Shannon, Kathleen Warner and Ruthann Kerezt
Mary is survived by her son, Frank Jr. and his wife, Suzanne Z. Edington of Spencer; one granddaughter, Tonya and her husband, Mark Cornwell of Webb; one grandson, Jay and his wife Angie Edington of Spencer and four great grandchildren
Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
