August 8, 1998Clyde Eachen, 77 died Saturday, August 8, 1998 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
Funeral services will be today at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating
Casket Bearers; Dennis Slaymaker, Roger Mann, James Newcomb, Jack Slaymaker, Mark Mann, Craig Dollansky
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer
Clyde Frederick Eacher, the son of Fred and Cornelia Allen Eachen, was born December 13, 1920 in Fostoria. He received his early education at Fostoria grade school and later attended Spencer High School.
Following his schooling, Clyde entered the military and served for three years
He married Ruby Klatt in Spirit Lake
On June 26, 1961, he married Lucille Newcomb in Colorado Springs, Colorado.. They made their home in Fostoria where Clyde lived all his life. He was a mechanic for over 30 years at H&N Chevrolet, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, V.F.W., American Legion and the Eagles Club. Clyde especially enjoyed his family and playing golf
Mr. Eachen was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby, in 1958, his parents and one brother, Dale
He is survived by his second wife, Lucille of Fostoria; a daughter, Sharon Slaymaker and he husband, Dennis of Spencer; a stepson, James Newcomb and his wife, Linda of Belton, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Jackie Mann and her husband, roger of Spencer; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren
